What personal data we collect and why we collect it
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, excluding changing their username.
Order Processing
When placing an order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, and regular mailing address. When paying by credit card, we need that number and the expiration date as well as the cvv on the reverse of the card. Placing an order on our site means you are giving us your consent to use and store this information for our business objectives, which is to fill your order as quickly as possible.
We also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you – if you’ve opted in – about important changes to our site or when we offer new items, specials etc. We will also send you monthly catalogs of our current inventory. If you do not wish to receive these updated e-mail or regular mail listings, simply send us an e-mail asking us to remove you from our email list.
Overall, we use this information to make your ordering experience simple and easy, reducing the need for repetitive typing.
How we protect your data
When you place your order, it is transferred through our secure server which encrypts the information while it travels through the internet. Once received, the information is only seen by our reliable and honest staff for the sole purpose of processing your order as quickly as possible.
Password recommendation
Here at Northern Nevada Coin ( hereby known as NNC), we do our best to keep your data safe. However, to better protect yourself, it’s important to practice safe online habits.
To protect your password, it’s important to change it periodically and keep your password private, since anybody who knows your password may access your account. We recommend changing your password every 60-90 days.
To choose a strong password:
- Use a unique password on NNC; not one that you use on other sites. If you need help remembering your password, consider using a password manager. Research the best one for you.
- Use at least 8 characters. A minimum of 7 is required.
- While not required, adding numbers or special characters to your password will make it even stronger. For example, the password “rivers2!%” is a much stronger password than “rivers.”
- Choose an original password.
- Do not use the same password that you use on other sites, including your email provider. Actively monitor all your accounts, including your email provider, for unauthorized or suspicious activity.
- Avoid passwords that are easy to guess. These include passwords such as “secret,” “password,” “northernnevadacoin,” or “123456.”
- If you receive a verification code from NNC, do NOT share it with anyone. NNC will NOT contact you and ask for your verification code.
Note: Passwords are case sensitive. For instance, “RIVERS2!%” and “rivers2!%” are two different passwords. When choosing a password, remember the capitalization you use, and make sure that the CAPS LOCK key on your keyboard is not turned on.
Contact forms
All our contact forms are there for your convenience only and any usage will not retain the provided information for any reason other than to deliver the message. By sending us a message using one of our contact forms, you consent to one of our employees responding to you via the provided email. Email addresses will not be added to our mailing list(s) unless the form provides that option and the user deliberately chooses to be included.

Who we share your data with
At Northern Nevada Coin, we will NEVER sell, lease or trade any customer information with any other person or business (private, public or otherwise) and will not release customer information except to the customer himself/herself. In rare circumstances, we will confirm customer creditworthiness to another dealer in our trade. This is standard industry practice, and involves nothing more than a confirmation that we have or have not done business. Typically, this is done upon the request of the client.
Why do we take I.D?
When selling us gold or coins, we are required to take I.D. This is to help protect our community against theft. When it comes to selling old gold jewelry and related items, we are required by law submit those transaction details to local law enforcement. Coins and bullion are exempt from these reports, but we must have an I.D. on file. Our gold buyers in Reno, Gardnerville, and Carson City are committed to making our community safer for all. All gold buyers in Nevada are all required to follow this law. If you are not selling to a licensed gold buyer, then you may be supporting a criminal activity. Our Reno, Gardnerville, and Carson City gold buyers are not going to waiver from the law, so please do not ask.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, accounting, or security purposes.
